Proctor Positions

The CBTF hires students as proctors each fall and spring semester. You can look for the job posting on the Virtual Job Board in July and November. You will hear back from us if you are selected for an interview.

Proctors are required to be available to work 6 hours/week.  There are opportunities to pick up more hours if you are interested.

Proctors are responsible for:

  • monitoring test-takers to ensure a fair testing environment
  • checking-in test takers
  • addressing student concerns during exams
  • resolving immediate issues with exams or equipment
  • ensuring that students remain calm if stressful situations arise 
  • learning and enforcing the policies and procedures of the CBTF
  • attending staff meetings for training and updates

Proctors must: 

  • have a strong sense of integrity
  • be reliable, punctual, and engaged
  • demonstrate maturity
  • be a responsible authority figure 
  • have keen attention to detail 
  • have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations and while addressing student concerns
  • have good interpersonal and written communication skills
  • attend weekly proctor meetings (Wednesdays at 4 pm) and team meetings (TBD)

Applicants who are taking courses that test with the CBTF must declare this information.  You will not be eligible to work during periods in which your courses have exams in the CBTF. Applicants who are not testing with the CBTF are preferred.
